Hi All,
The time has come, the weather is beautiful, the scenery spectacular, the beverages are cold, all that's missing is for those of you attending this year's reunion to arrive here. 5 days to go, unless you're planning to arrive in time to start with us, in which case it's 72 hours, or so, left!
The first of our events will be breakfast at Kanaan Hotel's Terrace on Wednesday 29th June morning, at around 10:00 am. This Terrace is an ideal location to see the comings and goings. Anyone in the vicinity will be welcome to join us. Breakfast normally lasts 2 to 3 hours as we bring each other up-to-date with what's been happening since we last saw each other. Breakfast is normally followed by a liquid lunch at the coffee shop below the Terrace.
The remainder of the day is open. Later in the evening we're thinking to go to Janneh for dinner, followed by a “night cap” at Cheers.
By Thursday morning most people from our group would have arrived, and we will be starting with breakfast at The Terrace, followed by “lunch” a few hours later. There have been some requests to have a repeat of the “Mouloukhia Bomb”. So for those of you who are lovers of Mouloukhia let me know, and we can arrange this at the spur of the moment with Fadi at the Kanaan Coffee Shop. (A definite misnomer!)
Later that evening we plan to go to Deir El Kalaa for a bowling session. This would be around 7:00 pm. The facilities there are not limited to 10-pin bowling. There's billiards, pool, babyfoot etc... Everyone is welcome to join us. Then around 9ish we plan to head to Cheers for the Quiz Night. This is a popular repeat event started last year. The Quiz should not last longer than 2 to 3 hours. This night definitely promises to be eventful and likely to go on till the early hours of the morning!
Friday sees the official start of the BHS OSA Reunion program. The day will follow the usual format with the exception of spending some time for the Annual Registration at the BHS OSA Office. The Reunion Dinner this year will be at the Al Bustan Hotel, starting at 8:30 pm. For those of you who have not attended one of those dinners before, you're in for a pleasant evening. Come smartly dressed. There's a full program of entertainment lined up, amongst the entertainers are “The 4 Cats”.
For the Street Party on Saturday night there's a live band line up, with dancers. There's a belly dancer, and a DJ. The Street Party is also an event not to be missed. Our group of BHS 70's normally have a table arranged for about 30 to 40 of us. The OSA normally is very kind to us and ensure we have a table booked near the stage. For those of you who want to join us please let me know so as to avoid disappointment as space on our table will be limited.
Not to be missed either are our events that normally extend beyond the end of the Reunion Dinner and the Street Party. In fact, our late night events, which are known to go on all night at times, usually take place over the week of the Reunion. These usually take place at “Cheers”, but are not limited to that venue. These events are ad hoc, where anything can happen. They are fun filled events full of singing and dancing, and Karaoke can be arranged spontaneously at a moments notice.
And so we come to the updated list of attendees. Sami Mina has finally managed to clear his in-tray and has confirmed that he is now a definite attendee. Lena Bakalian has also confirmed that she will be a definite attendee. We still haven't heard from Labib Boutros, Muhammad Hajar, Hussein Hamididdin, Janah Makarem, Nabeel Mounla, Salim Nassar, and Ali Zabarah. Yalla guys, get your act together and make your way over. You are guaranteed to have a great time!

This will be the last update I send out. The above list is the longest I've compiled of definite and possible attendees in the 6 years that I've been compiling these lists for Reunions. I am therefore extremely optimistic that this reunion will be the most successful to date, and I am very much looking forward to seeing you all here next week. We're going to make it one to remember.
One other thing I'd like to mention regarding the BHS 70s web site. Many of you have managed to get in touch with long lost friends using the “Then and Now” feature on the web site. There are probably many who are looking for you too, so any person who has managed to come as far as the BHS70s site looking for a friend can take the next step, which is to leave a message for the concerned person in his or her dedicated Then and Now page. In those pages, we have introduced a fully automated mail forwarding system which forwards any messages to your email address without disclosing that email address. However, to take advantage of this service you need to fill in the Then and Now form at the following page: www.bhs70s.com/aboutyou.php so that your Then and Now page, and your email address within the page, can be activated.
Looking forward to seeing you soon.
