Hi All,
The countdown continues… just under 4 weeks to go, and some those diehard attendees have already got their airline tickets. Shirley Cottom, Ibrahim Qamar and Tewfik Al-Far are all arriving on 29th June. By the way, if any of you need assistance with transportation from the airport let me know, we may be able to help.
Some people are going to extraordinary lengths to make it to the reunion. Jafar Hadid, who will be attending for the first time, in fact this will be his first visit to Lebanon since he left in 1975, is now in Mosul, in Iraq. Jafar is having great difficulties obtaining a visa due to the conditions in Iraq; he’s unable to get to the Lebanese Embassy in Baghdad. However, he requested our help, and we have responded. We are arranging, with the help of the OSA, to obtain visas for him and his family to be left at the border for him. We’ll see you soon Jafar inshallah.
Nassif Aoun cannot come to terms with the fact that he’s not yet on the list of “Definite” attendees. He can’t bear to see his name on the list of “Maybe’s”, so he’s put forward a proposal that I add another category of attendees, which is closer to a “definite” than a “maybe” is. So in order to keep him happy I’ve added a category called “The Probables” where Nassif’s name can be found. I also know that Sami Mina is more a “probable” than a “maybe” so I’ve added his name too. Let us know your plans Sami!!!
The updated lists are therefore as follows:
The Definites:
Nayla Abou Fadel
Rami Abu Jawdeh
Hoda Adlparvar-Wallace
Faris Al-Azzawi
Tewfik Al-Far
Jamal Ali-Ahmad
Sarmad Al-Wadi

For those of you who want the rest of us to know that you are coming, let me know so I can add you to the list. There are two ways you can do so:
Either register, by filling in the form: www.bhs70s.com/news/nextreunion.php. (However, remember that this form is purely for our use to give us an idea who will be attending and if anyone needs help.) Or you can write to me and tell me that you will be coming.
While you’re visiting the BHS70s website I’d like to ask those of you who have not completed the form to be included in the Then and Now pages of the BHS70s website to do so, you’ll find the form at the following page: www.bhs70s.com/aboutyou.php.
In last weeks update I gave you the program. This is how it looks:

Those of you who are familiar with this program may have noticed that there was a very important item which was inadvertently missed out. The live entertainment during the street party!!! Let me assure you that this was an unintentional error. There will in fact be a full line-up of live entertainment much the same, if not better than the usual.
For those of you who will require hotel accommodation during this period, hopefully by the next update I might have some information of any special deals that hotels in the area are making for the Reunion. I will let you know. Generally most people tend to stay at Kanaan Hotel. It is cheap, convenient, the accommodation is acceptable and the terrace breakfast is very popular. (I’m not in any way advertising or promoting the hotel…)
Looking forward to seeing you soon.
I serve…
