Hi All,
Ok gang... just under 5 weeks to go, and the countdown is well underway. Since I wrote to you last week the list of definite attendees has grown by 11 people to 28, and the list of Maybe's has grown to 5. Many of those who attended last year's reunion are returning, and many who have attended in previous years are also making a comeback. Also, we have a list of hopeful's who are near definites, but I's awaiting some sort of confirmation from them that they are definites before adding them to the list.
So... for those of you who want the rest of us to know that you are coming, let me know so I can add you to the list. There are two ways you can do so:
Either register, by filling in the form:
www.bhs70s.com/news/nextreunion.php. (However, remember that this form is purely for our use to give us an idea who will be attending and if anyone needs help.) Or you can write to me and tell me that you
will be coming.
While you're visiting the BHS70s website I'd like to
ask those of you who have not completed the form to be included in the Then and Now pages of the BHS70s
website to do so, you'll find the form at the following page: www.bhs70s.com/aboutyou.php.

As you are all aware by now, the above only tells part
of the story, as our 70's gang will have our own
program running alongside the above program. Our
program starts a few days before, and ends a few days
after. Also, it starts earlier in the day and continues on the nights of the reunions when the OSA program ends each day, so make sure that you get plenty of beauty sleep before you come, because you can be sure that over the 5 or 6 days of the Reunion you are unlikely to catch much sleep!!! Also, don't forget to bring with you your dancing shoes, specially the ones adapted for dancing on tables, chairs, couches, and bars!!!
We are planning to have at least one BBQ, probably one
lunch and one dinner. Bowling at Deir El Kalaa Country
Club proved to be very successful last year, so we
hope to have a repeat this year. Also, the pub quiz
proved to be very successful last year, so we plan to
have a repeat this year, but probably we'll have it
following the bowling, at Deir El Kalaa. This is
likely to happen on Thursday 30th June. There will
also be at least one lunch or dinner at some of the
most popular restaurants in the area.
No doubt there will also be repeats of the daily
breakfasts on the terrace of Kanaan Hotel to start
each day (record standing at 23 people present on Day
1 of the reunion), and repeats of the karaoke singing
to end each day (no reliably accurate count available
as no one could count by then!!!). In between, there
will definitely be repeats of the usual beverages
lunches, including maybe one “Mouloukhia Bomb” special
lunch, if Toy remembers to bring the deadly concoction
with him when he comes. (Cooling fans will be
available where required!!!)
In addition to all that, there will be, as always, one
or two surprises. And this year, being a special reunion, there will probably be a few special surprises.
I'm adding a couple of pictures with this update taken
during last year's reunion to illustrate the kind of
table and couch dancing you will master by the end of
the Reunion!!! I will continue to send pictures with
each update. These pictures have been downsized from
their original size in order not to clog up people's
inboxes, thus the resolution is not as good as it
should be. Please remember to download them if you
want to keep them to make room for the next update.
Finally, I'd like to mention that I attended the May
Festival at the school yesterday, and was very
encouraged by how successful it turned out to be.
Congratulations to Shereen Baz and Joanne Abi Farah,
who won the titles of 1st Runner Up and Winner of May
Queen respectively at the end of a very enjoyable day.
Looking forward to seeing you soon.
