Hi Everyone,
Now I start in earnest the campaign to instill some enthusiasm amongst you all to make the effort to attend what promises to be the best, and most successful, reunion ever. I will not keep on repeating the symbolism of this one, 30 years etcc I will just say that it will be, by far, the most special one to date, specially for our group of BHS 70fs.
BHS OSA is in process of organizing the usual events over the 3 official days of the Reunion, including the Gala Dinner and the Street Party, including live entertainment. The usual lunches, the Mankoushi breakfast, Assembly, Sports Day, etcc We, with your help, are in the process of organizing our own events running alongside those of the OSA.
Those of you who have not yet attended any of these organized Reunions will certainly have a pleasant shock when you do eventually attend one. The spirit of camaraderie and friendship and the memories it will evoke, will instill in you a new vision and outlook towards life that will leave you regretting and wondering why you never made the effort to attend previous reunions. Ifm not making up these words, these are emotions that Ifve heard repeated over and over again at every reunion when new friends show up, not fully realizing what to expect or what theyfve been missing.
Those who have attended previously always end up vowing to return the following year if circumstances allow them; and most often, they will make sure to arrange and organize their circumstances to allow them to come again. This event has become a gnot-to-missh event on their agenda.
As a direct or indirect result of attending, some have gone to the extent of moving, bringing their families, and settling in Brummana and surrounding areas, and registering their children to attend school at BHS. More on that in later updates.
So far we have a list of the following attendees:
The Definites:
Hoda Adlparvar-Wallace
Faris Al-Azzawi
Tewfik Al-Far
Jamal Ali-Ahmad
Sarmad Al-Wadi
Shadia Awwad Wharton
Nabil Beitinjaneh
Shirley Bowman-Cottom
Jafar Hadid
Rima Maatouk-Habib
Charly Mathia
Sami Midani
Linda Nagem
Ibrahim Qamar
Christine Sabieh
Leena Saidi
Ramez Sawabini
Mona Shour
The Maybes:
Nassif Aoun
Muhammad Hajar
At this stage Ifve only included in the lists above those people that have written to us or told us verbally confirming that they are either definites or maybes. I am aware that there are many others, however, I await confirmation from them and everyone else, regular or otherwise, to let us know their intentions.
Ifve received some very moving accounts from many of their experiences at the time of leaving BHS in the 70fs, recalling those sad days when many people left realizing that they were leaving for good without having said a proper farewell to so many of their friends and acquaintances, probably never to see them again, which, to this day, is still the case. Ifm still hoping to receive more. So if you are one of those people please send me a small article to bhs70s@yahoo.com. Bear in mind that we have limited space, so please limit your writing to 2 or 3 paragraphs. I will put all of them together in one article which will hopefully be included in the yearbook. You can write about anything you like, as long as it covers that period of time, and if you have any special pictures you would to include email them to me too. However, please remember that we donft have much time, I have to submit the completed article by the end of May.
Finally, if you intend to come to the reunion, or would like to be classed as a gMaybeh please complete the Registration Form on the BHS70s website which you will find here ¨

Looking forward to seeing you soon.
