Many of you may be aware that there are moves afoot to organize a trip to Jordan to hold a BHS reunion there. This is planned to be held between 7th and 10th April 2005. This idea has received a positive response from many old scholars from all over the world leading us to expect the trip to be very successful.
The invitation is open to all BHS existing and old scholars, including some ex and current teachers. Those who have expressed an interest to join us have treated the proposal as an opportunity to visit some of the most fascinating historical sites in the fascinating country of Jordan, including Petra, Jerash, the Dead Sea and the Baptism Site; not to mention the opportunity to meet up with old friends and have great fun in the time-honoured BHS tradition.
Anyone who is interested in joining us please write to me at bhsseventies-jordan@yahoo.com and I'll send you more details regarding the itinerary and the cost of the trip. I might just add that the cost is great value for money.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

This message should actually be under gossip...in reply to Toy's & Debi's posts, but I can't seem to post anything there. I guess this message board is close enough.
I was in Beirut in mid-March and got together with most of the gang there for a couple of dinners. Despite the crisis, Martyr's square was full of only peacful protesters and the atmosphere in Lebanon was very civil. We all had hopes that the era of settling disputes through violence was over and that peaceful protest and dialogue was the new order.
But of course that was before the four car bombs went off, bringing back memories that none of us want to re-live.
Let's all hope and pray that common sense prevails and that peace wins over violence.
